Beginning with the Teen Brain Health proposal we were put into groups with people were interested in advocating for different topics with the purpose of gaining a more extended research and understanding of how depression affects different areas of the teen brain. Through weekly agenda meetings we divided the work into evenly portions and set weekly goals for our products and research. Although we worked together we made sure of helping each other develop our ideas by brainstorming ideas or new elements that could possibly be incorporated into the products, such as little book, interactive activity and T-Shirt design. We all individually created one of each and discussed what features we liked about each one of our individual products and incorporated them into the group design. At one point of our project professionals came to our classroom to give us critique, me and my group were critiqued by graphic designer David Varela who helped us add the symbols from the depression cure into our design.
My Teen Brain proposal was Depression, so I contributed with my topic. I think all my group members were happy with the focus topic we were given. One of the main challenges we faced when working together was finding ways to keep each other motivated throughout the project, we overcame this by creating a group chat and sending positive messages and reminders of what each one of us was supposed to complete.
