Introduction to our project.
The purpose of this project was for us students to understand and learn the chemistry of how food cooks and how specific things can cause very different reactions. Before we were given our mystery baskets we learned many things about different stuff that happens when you cook, we also watched many documentals and did many experiments with our class as an introduction to this project. After this we were assigned into groups, then we were given our mystery baskets. The mystery baskets had 5 ingredients, the 5 mystery ingredients my group got were: Shrimp, butternut squash, black beans, hot Cheetos and Cilantro. Our first idea for our dish was making pasta but then we realized involving black beans and Cheetos was going to be hard, we continued brainstorming until we came up with the idea of making hot Cheeto coated shrimp tacos with salsa pico de gallo served with a butternut squash and black beans puree. During exhibition we went in front of 5 judges and presented the food we had made for them with our given ingredients. We presented our food and explain our whole process and the scientific concepts for it while the judges were trying our food, when we were done presenting, the judges gave us mainly good feedback.

Reflection
This project made me think a lot about what actually happens when we cook something, how the food can change from one state to another or simply change physically, also all the reactions that happen during cooking that we are never really aware of. Something that truly surprised me was how careful we have to be our food when it comes to sanitary reasons for example how to organize the fridge or how easily food can get contaminated if left outside. I would say that my favorite day of this project was when we tried the miracle berries, miracle berries trick your tastebuds to make everything sour taste sweet, for example that day we ate limes after taking them and they were surprisingly sweet!.
