Project Description
Project Ciudad de angeles, is an orphanage at the outsides of Tijuana, Baja California, Mex.
Each one of us was assigned a kid from the orphanage, and what we had to do was build something we thought would be useful or something they would want. I was given a 15 year old girl named Elizabeth, which I thought it was perfect because she's my age so it would be easier to know what to make for her.

Two Hour Challenge
After being paired up with our kid, Ms. Soler gave us this challenge in which we had to hours to construct/build a prototype of what we wanted to actually give our kid. I wasn't here this day, but Ms. Soler allowed me to get with one group because we were gonna present the class what we had made, so I partnered up with Samantha and Verenice since they had the same Idea I had in mind... a Jewelry box!. They built the jewelry box out of cardboard glued it together so it looked like a box then glued another piece of cardboard in the inside so it didn't look empty. It had two doors in the outside decorated with mirrors and gold and pink details it was amazing.
Peer Critique and Personal growth Reflection.
After making our prototype, we had a critique session the next day. We first had to say the things we were proud about and our plans for our real prototype then we did a gallery walk in which we all left our prototype at our table and put the critique worksheet next to it so people could write what they liked or didn't and what could be improved.
Process and support.
We were first told that our due date was December 11th but it ended up being moved about a week earlier, so this put us in a lot of pressure. In my case I had to do it in Three days so I had to stay after school and during sixth period to get it done in time.
Wednesday
On Wednesday I still didn't have the materials at the beginning of the class so me and Verenice decided to ask ms. Soler to see if she new any places she knew where they sold plain jewelry boxes, so then she told us she had these boxes (the one I used) and she asked us if we wanted them and of course we said yes, since we felt really pressured. I immediately started by thinking of the color I wanted to paint it, so I thought of the idea of painting it white and then draw a cool modern design on top. So I got the pain my brushes and got to work, This was a tedious task since the paint was a little transparent I had to give it several coats until you couldn't see the wood anymore. I was only able to give it two coats that day.
Thursday
On Thursday I got to paint right when class started, I started painting again, this time also the inside and bottom, but I was being careful because I didn't want the paint to get in the mirror. After other two coats of paint. I started thinking about what design I was going to draw on top of the jewelry box, so Looked up easy designs that weren't too complex for me to draw, but then I realized it was better to be creative and draw something of my own. I started by doing the big flower in the center, then started by adding little details in the middle of it. I traced it with sharpie and then started doing random lines and doing different designs between them. The hardest part form doing that was tracing it with sharpie after because the paint didn't make it easy to trace, so it required me to go over at least three times each, so it wasn't as easy as it sound. Also the fact that I had to be really careful to not mess up because the box is white. That day I had to stay after school and on sixth period, to finish tracing over the pencil and start to color it, but it was the same struggle with the sharpies so it took me awhile.
Friday
On Friday I went over the colored part and gave it a second coat wherever I felt like it needed it. After that I looked up DIY's on how to make a ring holder and I saw a DIY, where you just had to roll this fabric a certain way and then, glue it to the inside of my jewelry box and I was done it was really simple and easy to make.
